This tool works out the tide for Victoria Point and highlights when fish are most likely to feed.
The stars show how strong the day’s tides are. Bigger tides — around the full and new moon — move more water and usually fish better. Strong wind and rain pull the rating down, and any day averaging over 15 knots — or with storms forecast — is capped at one star.
Fish tend to feed when the tide is running (water moving in or out) and around sunrise and sunset. The highlighted windows are when the tide flows strongest, with extra weight given to dawn and dusk.
Each window suggests species that suit it — based on the tide direction (run-in or run-out), whether it’s low light, and the time of year. It’s a general Moreton Bay guide, not a guarantee.
The wind and weather come from Seabreeze. Strong wind lowers the day’s rating and pushes the calmer times up the list, so the best windows favour lighter wind. The wind box is green when it’s calm and turns amber, orange then red as it freshens.
The forecast is a snapshot. Press ↻ Update weather at the top to fetch the latest (needs internet). It covers about 7 days. Tides work for any date; weather does not.
Weather, wind and water clarity still matter. Always check current size and bag limits and any closed seasons before keeping fish. Predictions cover 1970–2037, in Brisbane time (UTC+10).
